[SONG] of the Day – Lights – Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding turned 27 years old on December 30th. Hailing from a small English town of 750 people near the border with Wales, Lyonshall, Goulding has been consistently hitting the world charts since the release of her debut EP An Introduction to Ellie Goulding in 2009.

Here’s a stripped down version of her song “Lights” from her full length debut of the same name which stayed on the US charts for 33 weeks, reaching #2. This song really demonstrates her wonderfully unusual soprano voice and her quavering vibrato that is sort of sultry and silly at the same time, but incredibly controlled.  And you get a little Ryan Seacrest thrown in for good measure, so what’s not to like.
