Play It Sam – Happy Birthday to the Late Great Ingrid Bergman

Ingrid Bergman would have been 98 years old today. Coincidentally, today also marks the anniversary of her death. She died on her birthday back in 1982 at the age of 67.  The American Film Institute ranks her as the 4th greatest female star of cinema, behind only Katherine Hepburn, Bette Davis, and Audrey Hepburn. During her career, she won three Academy Awards, two Emmys and two Tony’s. Of her 52 film and TV credits, she will undoubtedly be best remembered as time goes by for playing the role of Ilsa Lund, alongside Humphrey Bogart as Rick Blaine, in the timeless 1942 classic Casablanca.
