It was on this day back in 1928 that Mickey Mouse made his debut in the short film Steamboat Willie at the Colony theater (since renamed the Broadway Theater) in New York City. Directed by Walt Disney and Ub Lwerks this jolly little cartoon mouse would go on to launch an entertainment empire valued at more than $142 billion dollars. Now that’s some cheddar!
