Baltimore Orioles icon Jim Palmer turns 68 years old today. And its pretty hard to find anything that isn’t known about this man. After all, he did pose in his underwear (we knew!) so there wasn’t much left to hide.
He’s in the baseball hall of fame (yeah, we knew), but what is astounding is that he never gave up a grand slam in his career (oh, really? who knew?)
Aside from his baseball skills, most people are familiar with Jim Palmer from his time spent as the spokesman for Jockey Underwear.
This role meant he had to go around the country and talk it up with local morning shows.
But Palmer didn’t know just underwear. He also had a thing for money. And when Phil Rizzuto wasn’t around, Palmer was there to step up to the plate and tell people how to get money.
If you dig back a bit further, you can find Palmer always had a thing for advertisting. Even Brylcream.
OK Jay, that was a pretty good one, I might not have known that. But tell me something I really didn’t know. Well, did you know he had a thing for zebra print pants? Even Brooks looks like he didn’t know that one.
