Happy birthday to the late, great Joe Strummer who would have been 61 today. A true Hall of Famer, Strummer was one of the shining lights of rock and roll, a brave soul who wasn’t afraid to say what was on his mind, using his platform as a musician to call for social and political […]

Earl Weaver’s Best Umpire Chew Out [VIDEO]

by Tony Shea August 14, 2013

Earl Weaver was one of a kind, a fireplug sized keg of dynamite waiting to explode. During his career managing the Baltimore Orioles he was ejected from 91 games for his battles with umpires over blown calls. by Tony Shea August 1, 2013

Ray Donovan Is the Best New Show on TV

by Tony Shea July 28, 2013

As a typical rule of thumb, I’m an HBO man rather than a Showtime one. by Tony Shea July 16, 2013

It was announced yesterday that True Blood will be back on HBO for a 7th season. I’ve watched every episode of True Blood so far. Wait, I forgot I missed some episodes in season three. And maybe some in season five. But wait, I watched them over that long weekend, remember? But wait, I forgot […]

Art vs. Art – Heroes and Villains – Monster Michael vs. Fat Elvis

by Tony Shea July 2, 2013

Michael Jackson has been in the news again lately as a consequence of his daughter’s recent suicide attempt. Perhaps, it stands to reason that she would be troubled having endured a childhood behind a red veil, staring into the unusual face that she called father, after her “mother”, Debbie “the human incubator” Rowe, gave her […]

Cheers for Beards

by Tony Shea June 25, 2013

This year’s Stanley Cup Finals surely has to rank as one of the best in recent memory, starring two of the “original six” teams, the Chicago Blackhawks and the Boston Bruins, in an intense series that featured three overtime games. For Bostonians it must undoubtedly have been heartbreaking to watch Chicago in game six, as […]
