Celebrating the birthday of David Bowie this week, we thought it fitting to look at some of his acting roles through the years. Although undoubtedly more well known as a musician,  Bowie has quietly amassed 38 credits as an actor. His first foray into the world of acting was in this black and white, and dialogue free, short film from 1969 entitled “The Image,” which perhaps unbelievably earned a rating of X. In it, Bowie plays a ghostly apparition leaping from the canvass of a tortured artist’s mind.
